About us

The Housing Office offers furnished accommodation in Groningen to foreign guest of one of the Universities. If you come to our city to study or work to either the University of Groningen (RUG) or to the Hanze University of Groningen (HG) you are welcome to apply for housing with our organisation.

The Housing Office can find you a single or shared room in one of her 11 International Student Houses. Our student houses can be found all over the city of Groningen. From North to South and East to West. We hope you can find a house of your preference where you can have a great experience in Groningen. All International Student Houses have facilities to cook and in most of our rooms there is internet available. Specific details can be found on this website.

Next to our International Student Houses we also mediate in the private sector, where we have four different categories. Not only we have contact with landlords that can offer a room in a Dutch student house but we can also help you with finding an apartment for you and your partner.

Our accommodation will be in general furnished as our guests come from abroad with nothing else then a suitcase. In the International Student Houses there will be standard furniture, more information can be found at the specific buildings. For the private sector counts that the landlord decides what will be available. When we offer you private accommodation we will describe what kind of furniture will be present.

Please do keep in mind that housing in Groningen is scarce and expensive. We are a non-profit organisation which means that the rent paid by our guest do not fully cover all costs.
