Arrival
Exception for arrivals per 1 September 2010; you may arrive 4 nights earlier from Saterday 28 of August if your room is already available and not booked for August. Costs are € 10,- per early night, and you need to check with your student manager if your room is already available.
You will receive your keys upon arrival and the student manager will sign a rental agreement with you. You may pay your first rent as soon as possible after you have checked in.
If you do not show up, cancel your accommodation after acceptation or if you refuse to sign your rental agreement upon arrival, you will loose your deposit of € 325,-. This amount will then cover the loss or income for a room which we kept reserved for you.
Your student manager
Every International Student House has one or more student managers. They are employed by the Housing Office and are responsible for managing the building on a day-to-day basis.
Student managers will open the door for you upon your arrival, sign a rental agreement with you, show you around and explain their house rules.
Student managers are students themselves and usually Dutch. They live and work in the International Student Houses. They speak English well and can be asked for assistance for any question related to the house or your rental agreement.
Bed linen
In each room there is a bed, a mattress, a pillow and a duvet. In shared rooms, there are two single beds with these items on each bed. You need to bring your own bed linen or you may rent a bed linen package from the Housing Office. A bed linen package is a professionally washed and sealed package with a mattress cover, a sheet cover, a duvet cover and a pillow case. You can apply for it by ticking the box on your application form. Costs are € 17,50 per stay. It is obligatory to use bed linen on your bed and your mattress.
Should you bed-hop to another International Student House or another room in your house, you must take it with you to your new room. You may leave the package unwashed in your room upon your final departure.
Your rental agreement starts on the first day of the month. You are allowed to arrive from 12.00 hours on this day. It may be possible to arrive earlier (with a maximum of 3 nights before the start of your rental agreement), but only if your room is available. To be sure, you need to email your student manager to check if your room is already empty. We will charge you € 10,- per early night.
