House rules

All International Student Houses have their own house rules. They will be explained to you by your student manager when you arrive. With so many people from different cultures in one building, respect for your room- or flat mate is our basic principle.

In general the following rules apply:

Kitchen duty is an important task for all our residents. It means the student manager will make a schedule for doing the dishes, cleaning up the kitchen en removing all rubbish and waste paper and used glass/cans. Kitchen duty is usually done every late evening by a few people, so it depends on the number of people who use a kitchen how often you need to do this.

It is not allowed to grow or produce weed or any other soft- or hard drugs. Also the use of hard drugs is absolutely forbidden. If caught, eviction will be immediate.
The smoking of soft drugs and/or regular cigarettes may be allowed in some International Student Houses in your own room only or at a seperate smoking area. In case you share a room, you should never cause any nuissance to your roommate.

No pets are allowed.

It is not allowed to cause any nuisance in any form to your room mate, flat mate or any of your neighbours living around the International Student House. Be quiet when you leave your house for going to the city centre in the evenings, but most import: return back home without disturbing anyone’s night rest.

You may invite a guest/family for a maximum of 14 nights in your room. Always ask permission to your student manager as we like to know who is present in our building. There are guestrooms available at Moesstraat, Winschoterdiep and Van Houtenlaan. As a host, you are responsible for your guest.

It is not allowed to sublet your room.

You are expected to do your 'kitchen duty''.
