Kornoeljestraat is located in the North of Groningen, very close to the Zernike University area. The building is 10 floors high and has two elevators. In total there are 316 single rooms, but not all rooms are from the Housing Office. Currently the Housing Office rents out 248 single rooms to our foreign guests. The other rooms are rented out by Lefier, the owner of the building. Most of these students are Dutch.

Per person there is a single bed with a mattress, a pillow and a duvet, a wardrobe, a table and chair, desk lights and waste bins. Sometimes there is extra furniture like an old sofa or side table left by other students. You may rent a sealed bed linen packet, with a sheet cover, a duvet cover and a pillow case for € 18,50 per stay. You will pay this amount with your first month rent. The rented bed linen should be handed in upon leaving.

For 3 hours a day (12.30 till 15.30 hours) on monday till thursday there is caretaker available for maintenance issues, cleaning, deliveries and all your questions. Apart from a caretaker, 4 student managers live and work in this building.

On each floor there is a small common room and a kitchen. There is a television connection in most common rooms, but not in the students' rooms.

Every floor has 1 kitchen with cookers, refrigerators and freezers. Every student has his own kitchen box with basic kitchen inventory like pots, pans, plates, cutlery etc. You are not permitted to leave these things in the kitchens. At the end of your stay your kitchen box should still be complete, so take care of your things.

There are several units with showers and toilets in the corridors. washing machines and dryers available in the basement of the building.

Bikes can be put outside, but there is also an inside bike shed. Some parking space for cars is available. It will take you approximately 5 minutes to bike to ZernikeUniversity area and 10 minutes to the city centre.

Rent per month from the first of August 2011 all in: single rooms € 322,- per person including wired internet. There is an utp socket in your room so don't forget to bring your utp connection cable to be able to connect your laptop to our network. Rooms are 12m2.
