Melkweg/Kraneweg is located on a street corner very close to the city centre of Groningen. There are 3 front doors for 3 buildings next to each other. Each building has 4 different floors and there is no elevator. Here you will find 23 shared rooms only (2 students of the same gender in 1 room). There is one room for our student manager. In total you live with 46 students from all over the world. Per person there is a single bed with a mattress, a pillow and a duvet, a wardrobe, a table and chair, desk lights and waste bins. Sometimes there is extra furniture like an old sofa or side table left by other students.

There are 8 different kitchens with cookers, refrigerators, freezers and cooking utensils (pots, pans, plates, cutlery etc.) all is shared. In the corridors you will find several units with showers and toilets and there are washing machines and dryers available per building.

There is no common room. The kitchen is the place is where students cook, eat their meal and come together. There is no TV connection in your room. Bikes can be put behind a fence under a roof at the back of the building. There is no parking space for students' cars.

You may rent a sealed bed linen packet, with a sheet cover, a duvet cover and a pillow case for € 18,50 per stay. You will pay this amount with your first month rent. The rented bed linen should be handed in upon leaving.

It will take you approximately 2 minutes to bike to the city centre and 15 minutes the other way to ZernikeUniversity.

Rent per month from the first of August 2011 all in: between € 275,- and € 291,- per person including wireless internet.Rooms vary in size from 16m2 up to 35m2.
