Our International Student House at Albertine Agnesplein is a lovely old building located at a square in the Orange quarter of Groningen. The building used to be a school. Now we rent out former classrooms to foreign students. There are 24 shared rooms (2 people per room) and 2 single rooms to rent and there is one room for our student manager. In total you live with 50 students from all over the world.

All rooms are split level. You can both put your single bed above, or one student can sleep upstairs and the other student downstairs. Per person there is a single bed with a mattress, a pillow and a duvet, a wardrobe, a table and chair, desk lights and waste bins. Sometimes there is extra furniture like an old sofa or side table left by other students.There are 6 kitchens spread throughout the building. They all have different colours.

There is no big common room; students cook, eat and sit together in their kitchen. Most kitchens have a television, there is no TV connection in your room. Kitchen utensils (pots, pans, plates, cutlery etc.) are shared and available in each kitchen. Of course there are refrigerators, freezers, cookers and sometimes a microwave.In every corridor there are common bathrooms with showers and toilets. There is one central space with washing machines and dryers. There is private parking space available for your car behind a fence. Bikes can be put behind a fence in a bike shed.Please note this student house is in the middle of a family area. This means noise nuisance is not tolerated at any time. There is a very nice big park nearby and it will take you approximately 15 minutes to walk to the city centre. On your bike it is 5 minutes to the city centre and 10 minutes the other way to ZernikeUniversity. Bus 15 will take you in both directions.

You may rent a sealed bed linen packet, with a sheet cover, a duvet cover and a pillow case for € 18,50 per stay. You will pay this amount with your first month rent. The rented bed linen should be handed in upon leaving.

Rent per month from the first of August 2011 all in: single room € 364,-, shared rooms € 291,- per person including wireless internet. Rooms vary in size, but most shared rooms are about 25m2 + space above to sleep (see picture).
