Kornoeljestraat is located in the north of Groningen, very close to the Zernike University area. The building is 10 floors high and has two elevators. In total there are more then 300 single rooms, but not all rooms are Housing Office. At the moment Housing Office rents out 134 rooms to our foreign guests. The other rooms are rented out by Lefier, the owner of the building. Most of these students are Dutch.

From 1 September 2009 we will get even more rooms in this building available for Housing Office students. In time the complete flat will be rented by Housing Office.

Per person there is a single bed with a mattress, a pilow and a duvet, a wardrobe, a table and chair, desklights and wastebins. Sometimes there is extra furniture like an old sofa or side table left by other students.

There are 4 student managers available at Kornoeljestraat. They live at different floors in the flat. Two of our student managers are from China. They speak English well, but obviously they also speak Mandarine.

On each floor there is a small common room and a kitchen. There is a tv connection in most common rooms, but not in the students' rooms.

Every floor has 1 kitchen with cookers, fridges and freezers. Every student has his own kitchen box with basic kitchen inventory like pots, pans, plates, cutlery etc. It is not allowed to leave these things in the kitchens. At the end of your stay your kitchen box should still be complete, so take care of your stuff. There are several units with showers and toilets in the corridors and there are washing machines and dryers available.

Bikes can be put outside, but there is also an inside bike shed. Some parking space for cars is available. There is an central inhouse bar/common room available where a social event can be organised.

It will take you approximately 5 minutes to bike to Zernike University area and 10 minutes to the city centre.

Rent per month all in: single rooms € 312,- per person including wired internet. Rooms are 12m2.
