Martinihouse used to be a hotel. Now its rooms are rented out to our foreign students. There are 62 single rooms and 2 shared rooms and there is 1 room for our student manager. In total you live with 66 foreign students from all over the world. Martinihouse is located in the south of Groningen.
Per person there is a single bed with a mattress, a pilow and a duvet, a wardrobe, a table and chair, desklights and waste bins. Sometimes there is extra furniture like an old sofa or side table left by other students. Most rooms have there own balcony. Also most rooms (except for 2 single rooms and the shared rooms) have their own private bathroom (shower, toilet and washing basin).
There are three kitchens, one of them is really big and also functions as a common room. All kitchens have cookers, fridges, freezers and cooking utensils (pots, pans, plates, cutlery etc.). Kitchen utensils are shared. Washing machines and dryers are available.In the common room and in some kitchens, there is a television. There is no tv connection in your room.
Bikes can be put behind a fence under a roof. There is some parking space in front of the building should you bring a car. It will take you approximately 10 minutes to bike to the city centre and 20 minutes to Zernike University.
Rent per month all in: single rooms with private facilities € 411,- or € 423,-, single rooms with shared facilities € 355,- and shared rooms € 293, - per person including wireless internet. Rooms vary in size from 16m2 to 20m2.
