The Orange House at the Antillenstraat was built in 2008 and only contains private studios. The building is located between the city centre and the Zernike University campus. It is close to the academic hospital, which is ideal for our medical students. There are 75 independent studios here. It is a three storey building with no elevator. Both Dutch and international students live in this building.

Note: last year this location was exclusively for phd/master students, but this year its population will slightly more mixed, including regular students with a specific wish for living on their own with private facilities. Phd/master students will be placed on the same floor in this building however (top floor).

You do not share any facilities with other students, except for the bike shed. It is the only Housing Office International Student House where you do not have to share any facilities.

Also here there will be a student manager available. She also lives in one of the studios nearby. Each unit is completely decorated and furnished. You will find a single bed with a mattress, a pillow and a duvet, a wardrobe, a table and 2 chairs, an easy chair with a reading light, a waste bin and cleaning utensils.

Unfortunately there are no washing machines in the building. To do your laundry you will have to go to a launderette nearby. The costs will be around € 7,-. You may rent a sealed bed linen packet, with a sheet cover, a duvet cover and a pillow case for € 18,50 per stay. You will pay this amount with your first month rent. The rented bed linen should be handed in upon leaving.

You have your own kitchen with an electric cooker, a refrigerator and a water cooker. There is basic kitchen inventory available, like pots, pans, plates, cutlery etc. Also you will find your own private shower and toilet in your studio.

Bikes can be put in a bike shed. A car can be parked in the carpark or in the streets around the building. Getting to the city centre will take you approximately 10 minutes by bike. To go to Zernike University campus, you will probably bike for 15 minutes.

Please note there is no internet. You have to arrange this yourself. We can give you advice on providers but we are not responsible for the connection you set up. It will take a while before you are online. Most of the basic packages will cost around € 20,- a month. To arrange internet most providers need a Dutch bank accountnumber.

Rent per month from the first of August 2011 all in € 457,-. The units are about 25m2.
