Rental conditions
All rental agreements are per full month. They start on the 1st of the month at 12.00 hours p.m. (noon) and end on the last day of the month at 12.00 hours p.m. (noon). Always check the starting date and the departure date on your rental agreement carefully.
Please note: Only if you come for 3 or 4 weeks (maximum of 1 month) you may rent from for example 25th of May to 15th of June, if rooms are available. Should you come for 1 month only or less, you do not have to pay our registration fee. You only pay 1 full month (also if you come for 2 or 3 weeks) and a (refundable) deposit.
There is a minimal rental period of 5 months. Thereafter you can prolong your rental agreement per full month with a maximum of 12 months in total. Only in case you follow a very short programme at the RUG or HG, you may rent for only 1, 2, 3 or 4 full months. We call this is a short stay rental agreement. Your contact person at the University will need to approve this. A short stay rental agreement can not be shortened or prolonged.
Your rent includes gas, water, electricity, maintenance, an internet connection (except Antillenstraat), council taxes, use of furniture and use of kitchen facilities. You pay rent per full month. Should you arrive later during your first month for whatever reason, you still pay your rent from the 1st of the month.
