Who are we for?

All foreign students, researchers or lecturers, who come to study or work at the Rijksuniversity of Groningen (RUG) or at the Hanze University of Groningen (HG) may apply with us for furnished accommodation. You need to have a foreign passport and come from abroad.

We can find you a place to stay for 1 month up to a maximum of 12 months. Should you come to Groningen for more than 12 months, you may still use our facility. However, you then need to find new accommodation by yourself after this first year in Groningen. For students who need a room for only 2 or 3 weeks, you may also apply. You then pay a full month rent, but no registration costs.

You are not obliged to use Housing Office to find you a place to stay. Obviously the RUG and the HG will recommend Housing Office to you, but you are free to find your own room if for example you have friends or family in Groningen or other options.
